The Knotty Truth® Author

At the end of the 20th century, books on natural hair were centered on experiential learning. Identifying a gap, Michele became the first author of natural hair care focused on the science of tightly coiled hair and the science of locking. Michele shares her wealth of knowledge within The Knotty Truth® book series, integrating the science of natural hair care, with a  special emphasis on self-empowerment and education. To complement her hands on experience in haircare, Michele earned a CPT as a Certified Personal Exercise Trainer and certification in Natural Hair. Michele currently specializes in lock installation, maintenance and empowerment consultations and workshops.

Michele holds two science degrees from Hampton University, and Clemson University along with a business degree in Healthcare Management from Columbia Southern University. Michele is a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc ® (AKA), the oldest African American sorority.
